National Martini Day
The drink of the distinguished and the delightful, National Martini Day is getting the Primus Hotel Sydney treatment.
It should come as no surprise that the martini – the preferred drink of James Bond, Frank Sinatra and Dorothy Parker – has its own national day.
Taking place on Monday, June 19, the National Martini Day aims to celebrate all things martini, including the various twists and tweaks that have made this drink such an iconic fixture in the bar scene.
And at the Primus Hotel Sydney, it’s a chance for you to experience our unique take on that modern classic – the Espresso Martini.
Now, according to bartender mythology, the very first espresso martini is attributed to Kate Moss who, upon walking into a London bar, asked the young mixologist on duty to create her a drink that would “wake me up and #*$% me up.”
At the Primus Hotel Sydney’s Lobby Bar, our bartenders have taken the relatively simple ingredients and methodology behind the tipple and added a sophisticated twist.
We use house infused vanilla and hazelnut vodka, fresh full bodied coffee, Frangelico, and Kahlua – all chilled to -100oC with liquid nitrogen making the glass super cold.
But the real magic happens in the presentation when our talented bar staff takes the drink and…well, you’ll just have to experience that in person.
