Hidden Sydney: The Glittering Mile

Hidden Sydney: The Glittering Mile

The wonderfully dark and hilarious play exploring mythical Kings Cross is back for another season.

Back by popular demand, Hidden Sydney: The Glittering Mile, is returning to The Nevada at World Bar this May 25, celebrating all things gory and glamourous in Sydney’s infamous Kings Cross.

The immersive, interactive, cabaret has been revived for a limited season, presented by Vivid Sydney and Vivid Music – and just in time for the winter party season!

Take a trip into the underworld of Kings Cross, from its early days as a hive of bootleg booze in the ‘50s, the seductive ‘60s and ‘70s through to the decadent 80s.

As you move up the levels of The Nevada, discover iconic characters from the history of Sydney’s underworld: Bea Miles, Abe Saffron, Rosaleen “Roie” Norton The Witch, Standover Jim and the iconic Les Girls performers.

Rub shoulders with the criminals and crooks of the day (who aren’t who you think they are), finishing up with last drinks at the Chevron Silver Spade with Barry Crocker and the effervescent Judy Garland.

As part of the new run, a series of “in conversation” events will take place under the banner of Kings Bloody Cross: Tales from the Glitterati and Criminale.

From the mouths of artists, idealists and opportunists, learn about the real 'ungentrified' Sydney –  the heady days of rock n roll, free love, corruption, opportunity, sex and politics during the twentieth century.

Presented over three weekends, Kings Bloody Cross will engage audiences with thrilling insight into the dirty half mile's people, bohemia and place.

For tickets and a full run down of times, head to the official Hidden Sydney website.

Hidden Sydney: The Glittering Mile will show at The Nevada at World Bar from May 25 until June 18.
