Budding creators of art in all forms will be celebrated at the annual ARTEXPRESS.
A curated collection of the best of Australia’s graduating artists, ARTEXPRESS is once again happening in Sydney.
Currently showing at the Art Gallery of New South Wales until April 23, ARTEXPRESS is a fascinating look at the future of art.
It features a stunning selection of student artworks, chosen for their unique contribution their medium. The exhibition encompasses a broad range of approaches and expressive forms, including ceramics, collection of works, documented forms, drawing, graphic design, painting, photomedia, printmaking, sculpture, textiles and fibre, and time-based forms.
Developed for the artmaking component of the HSC examination in Visual Arts 2016, ARTEXPRESS 2017 provides insight into students’ creativity and the issues important to them.
Unlike any other exhibition, it takes a very real peak into the creative process by putting the diaries and research undertaken on display.
Because the work is also taken from a cross-section of schools in NSW the works encompass the diverse life experiences of Australian youth. From rural schools in rich agricultural regions to inner city colleges, ARTEXPRESS is a fascinating and immersive world rarely seen in such colour and vibrancy.
Entry to ARTEXPRESS is free.
