Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2017

Australia’s biggest fashion event is coming in May, turning the city into a hub of style and glamour.

Kicking off on May 14 and running until May 19, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is the pinnacle of style and glamour, taking over the incredibly halls and theatres of Carriageworks in Eveleigh.

First and foremost, it is an industry event where designers – local, international, established, and up-and-coming – can present their incredible work to buyers and media.

Since it first launched in 1996 by PR consultant Simon Lock, it has been ground zero for some of the biggest labels in Australia getting a leg up in a competitive industry where everyone fights for centre stage.

Collette Dinnigan, Ksubi (back when they were Tsubi), Lisa Ho, Alex Perry, and J’Aton have all sent collections down the runways of Fashion Week.

This year, one of the industry’s most celebrated designers will be opening the event – Dion Lee. Also showing are streetwear label Ten Pieces, Alice McCall, Ginger and Smart, Christopher Esber, and of course Romance Was Born.

While the main showings are strictly limited to industry, it’s the Weekend Edition starting on May 19 until May 21 that you should be clamouring to get a ticket to.

Open to the public and a chance to see what is set to hit the stores in the coming seasons, the Weekend Edition is wonderful chance to participate in the creative force that drives Australia’s fashion industry. And maybe scoff a glass of Champagne while you’re at it.

For ticketing and more information, head to the official website.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will take place at Carriageworks from May 14 until May 19 and Weekend Edition will run from the 19th until the 20th
